The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
This Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Administrator position in based at the Office located in Toronto and be reporting to the Alstom EHS Project Manager. EHS administrative position will play an integral role assisting the local management with day-to-day administration and continuity of the Health & Safety Management System and Environmental Management System. The key responsibilities and accountabilities include but not limited to the description below:
Administrative Duties
- Ensure an updated digital and non-digital safety information board
- Preparing attendance lists and meeting minutes for various meetings
- Prepare Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Meetings packages and minutes
- Supporting EHS training bookings, scheduling, facility arrangements
- Assist in the planning and development of events (i.e. safety stand down meetings, EHS campaigns) and their respective contractual requirements.
- Assist in preparing various monthly KPIs, monthly reports, statistics
- Maintain employee training proof of training, training expiry, and training matrix
- Support desk and field audits
- Support the administration of health and safety claims
- Manage the EHS general inbox and inquiries
- Follow up and electronic archiving all EHS documents
- Support the EHS team in all administrative tasks where necessary
Office Health and Safety
- Conducting office EHS inspections (ex. First aid kits, fire extinguishers, AED, etc)
- Develop and maintain office risk assessments
- Participation in improving office ergonomics;
- Participation in the Project JHSC, mental health committee and other Alstom initiatives;
- Support the implementation of EHS management systems
- Develop and transmit EHS short communications, newsletters etc.
- Support in building/delivering training programs
- Occasional site visits / safety inspections for professional development / program understanding
- Supporting office staff in EHS matters
PPE & Safety Supply Inventory Management
- Support all teams in PPE and Safety Supply Inventory procurement: sourcing; placing orders; receive, store, monitor inventory; support billing; and providing PPE to workers
- Monitor PPE and Safety Supply Inventory for annual recertification
