Acara Solutions is seeking a Toolmaker for our client in Roslyn Heights, NY!
We are seeking qualified candidates with:
- Experience designing and retrofitting tools for CNC machinery
- Mechanical aptitude and keen attention to detail
- A reliable work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Here's what you'll do:
- Repair live tool holders and accessories for Swiss style CNC lathes. Disassemble, clean, evaluate, order parts, and re-assemble.
- Hold extremely tight tolerance, (1-5 MICRONS) on rotating assemblies.
- Support the Service and Applications departments by fully utilizing all standard machine shop tools, including: manual lathes, mills, grinders, saws, hones, and hand tools.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Design and make custom tooling for production machines.
- Take precise measurements and marking materials for cutting or shaping.
- Select appropriate tools and machine settings for each task.
- Machine multiple types of metal alloys and/or plastics to tight tolerances
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Retro fit parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to keep them in optimal condition (I.E. lathes, milling machines, grinders, and air compressor).
- Inspect finished parts for defects and ensuring they meet specifications.
Position Type: Direct Placement
Salary: Up to $75K/yr.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Toolmaker.
- Minimum 5 years' experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Minimum 5 years' experience modifying/making various tools, holders and components.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Formal training or secondary education in CNC Machining is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments.
