Here's what you'd do:
- We are seeking a Director of Survey & Right-of-Way Services to lead and expand our survey and ROW practice.
- This senior leadership role will oversee all aspects of survey operations and right-of-way engineering, with a primary focus on INDOT topographic surveys, legal surveys, and right-of-way plan development.
- You will work closely with project managers, engineers, field crews, and agency contacts to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
- Provide strategic leadership to the Survey and Right-of-Way department, including staff development, resource planning, and quality control.
- Oversee INDOT topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, legal descriptions, and right-of-way engineering.
- Lead the preparation and review of LCRs, field notes, survey base maps, plats, and ROW acquisition documents.
- Serve as the firm's expert on surveying standards, INDOT procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with field crews and CAD technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency in deliverables.
- Manage client relationships and provide technical support during proposal development and project execution.
- Work with leadership to grow the department and pursue new business opportunities.
Here's what you'll get:
Pay: $118K - $165K / year.
Hours: 40 hrs/Week.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 20 years of professional surveying experience.
- Minimum 20 years of experience as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
- Minimum 20 years of experience in land surveying with increasing responsibility, preferably with a focus on public infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in ALTA/NSPS surveys, boundary surveys, legal descriptions, topographic surveys, and INDOT right-of-way engineering.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in INDOT standards, LCR preparation, field book management, and CAD-based plan development.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in software tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
- Deep technical knowledge and leadership skills to guide a high-performing team.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
