Description
Acara Solutions is seeking a Survey Team Lead - Licensed PSM to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity
This opportunity is ideal for a Florida-licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) with a strong land survey background who's ready to expand into marine work and strategic leadership. Experience with hydrographic tools is a bonus, but not required-training will be provided.
Location: Primarily remote; candidates must be able to travel occasionally to company offices in Tampa or Boca Raton, FL
Salary: $150k - $160k
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of survey professionals on topographic and hydrographic projects
- Act as Surveyor of Record and oversee project planning, execution, and quality control
- Assign staff and equipment, manage schedules, and ensure timely project delivery
- Collaborate with geophysics and geology teams on data interpretation and report generation
- Produce maps, figures, geohazard reports, and technical deliverables
- Support business development efforts, including proposals, presentations, and client meetings
- Engage with prospective clients to help define scope, win work, and close deals
- Maintain strong technical standards for safety, quality, and compliance
- Foster team development and continuous improvement
Job Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Florida PSM (Professional Surveyor and Mapper) license required
- 10+ years of professional surveying experience, including crew supervision and QA/QC
- Experience managing land-based or hydrographic survey projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Surfer, and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable with occasional travel and offshore work as needed
- Familiarity with multibeam sonar, GPS, side scan sonar, or magnetometers is a plus-but not required
