Acara Solutions is helping our global manufacturer of engineered systems, RF components and RF Microwave assemblies, and PCBs, find an expert in Radar systems. The Staff Systems Engineer is a direct salaried position onsite in Farmingdale, NY (Long Island) with a target of $170K base (flexible). Relo assistance provided.
Come join a dynamic team of Systems Engineers architecting today's leading-edge technologies in support of our military primary radar operators. Our SEs support the entire development lifecycle, from initial proposals to post-delivery validation and test, ensuring a challenging and rewarding career with exposure to all facets of systems engineering. All of our engineering design and test is accomplished at our Farmingdale facility to provide an immersive experience from start to finish, with close coordination with all engineering disciplines.
The candidate would lead a multidisciplinary development team in the definition, design and test of complex radar systems, and include some of the following tasks:
- Entire systems life cycle design and compliance with the technical requirements of the project.
- System requirements decomposition, derivation and allocation to the individual engineering disciplines
- Oversee development of system architecture views to satisfy performance requirements, cost, risk, producibility, operational and logistical suitability, growth and scalability issues, etc.
- Lead Customer Interface and Interaction through Technical Interchange Meetings, Design Reviews, Training Sessions and Verification events.
- Post Delivery Field Testing/Support including analysis of Targets
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics from a four-year college, Master's is preferred.
Domain expertise in primary Radar systems, with min 15 years of systems engineering experience.
Generation of systems requirements, design documentation, interface documentation and management of requirements using DOORS.
Functional knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF), Radar system elements (i.e. antennas, receivers, transmitters, and processors).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Background in radar signal processing in the aerospace industry
Radar algorithms, real-time software, data analysis and/or modeling and simulation
Data analysis using MATLAB, or equivalent
Proposal development, Basis Of Estimate (BOE) development, Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development or equivalent.
Additional:
Possible occasional travel, including airline travel possible
The position may require a Secret clearance in the future, the ability to obtain a clearance is required (citizenship)
