Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager oversees all aspects of vendor management, purchasing, inventory, and production planning to support Client's defense and energy programs. This role ensures that supplier performance, material availability, and internal capacity are fully aligned with program delivery requirements. Acting as the operational bridge between customer demand and manufacturing capability, the Supply Chain Manager drives efficient resource allocation, schedule adherence, and compliance with defense industry standards.
This position requires a blend of strategic planning, tactical execution, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of manufacturing planning systems, inventory planning, supplier performance management, and cost control within complex, high-compliance production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 3 – 4 people in Niagara Falls, NY and Ashland, OH facilities
- Lead all supply chain functions including vendor management, purchasing, inventory control, and production planning.
- Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS), balancing contract commitments, furnace capacity, labor, and material constraints.
- Oversee supplier qualification, performance metrics, and on-time material deliveries to meet program milestones.
- Drive sourcing strategies that optimize supply continuity, cost, and quality while maintaining compliance with defense contracting requirements.
- Manage procurement execution for direct materials and critical components, ensuring alignment with production schedules and budget targets.
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to synchronize demand forecasts, capacity, and inventory strategies across departments.
- Monitor and improve key supply chain KPIs, including supplier delivery performance, inventory turns, schedule adherence, and lead time reduction.
- Conduct scenario and risk analysis to anticipate the impacts of demand changes, supply disruptions, or capacity limitations.
- Collaborate with Program Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve resource constraints and align production priorities.
- Support facility modernization and capacity expansion initiatives through long-term material and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and related defense industry requirements.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for executive leadership, providing visibility into supply chain performance and improvement opportunities.
