Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified Quality Inspector Specialist to work on-site with our client in  Palm Bay, FL
 
Responsibilities and Duties Required:

  • Inspect product using standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage, etc.).
  • Read and understand industrial / aerospace specifications including ISO9001 and AS9100, military specifications, industry specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Perform inspections and record inspection data associated with First Piece Inspections, First Article Inspections, Receiving Inspections, Final Inspections, and Work-in-Process Inspections.
  • Complete accurate first article packages for submission to Engineering and Quality personnel.
  • Ensure nonconforming material is properly segregated according to procedures and controlled until properly dispositioned.
  • Assist in maintaining inspection equipment to ensure calibration is performed in a timely manner, and that lost, damaged or out-of-service equipment is properly accounted for and controlled according to procedure.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and reasonable manner per Shapes Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain a clean safe work environment and contribute to Shapes 6S program and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Complete documentation accurately and scan on/off shop orders correctly.
  • Utilize and understand operation process sheets and inspect parts per character control sheets.
  • Notify Supervisor immediately should there be damage, defects, or inability to proceed efficiently. 
  • Set up and operate CMM and inspection arm using pre-existing inspection programs. 
  • Verify and validate CMM and inspection arm programs including correlation using secondary inspection methods.
  • Develop and implement programs for use with CMM running Calypso software and inspection arm.
  • Assist junior inspection personnel in inspection methodology.
  • Perform complex layout inspections (datum setups, multiple characteristics, and mathematical calculations) as required.
  • Address manufacturing / inspection challenges with shop personnel and work with Engineering to implement solutions.
  • Qualify and become certified for customer designated quality representative (DQR) status as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Here's what you'll get: 

Pay rate: $26.00 - $31.16/hr
Duration: Direct Hire
Schedule: 2nd shift 3:30PM – 12AM (Monday – Friday) Overtime as required
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; AA/AS degree desirable
  • Minimum 3 years CMM Calypso programming experience / 4 years of work experience in Quality field; or 10 years work experience in Quality field
 
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay focused, adapt to change positively or negatively, and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of basic math and computer functions.
  • Ability to multitask, work effectively and efficiently to shop order standards.
  • Must understand engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Must be willing to train co-workers in aspects of the shop.
  • Must be able to communicate and read English proficiently.
 
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position and constantly re-position self to perform required tasks. 
  • Prepares and Inspects items as needed for this role.  
  • May be required to work on slippery and uneven surfaces. 
  • May be exposed to physical hazards from moving equipment, heavy equipment, and machine parts.
  • Specific coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. 
  • May work in close proximity to others.
 
Visual Acuity:

  • Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected.
  • Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read computer screens and documents.
 
Hearing Ability:
  • Normal hearing or corrected to normal. 
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action. 
 
Working Conditions:
  • Factory environment.
  • Occasional work outside normal business hours.
  • High noise levels from operating machines.
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Breathing fumes, dust, and mist.
  • Skin exposure to chemicals associated with manufacturing.
