Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Barrie, ON. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:  

  • The Mechanical Engineer will work with a team of professional, dynamic, and talented designers. 
  • Depending on project requirements, work may be completed independently or as part of a team. 
  • Mechanical design of large and technically complex automation equipment
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (Ansys, Inventor)
  • Actuator, motor, and servo sizing
  • Pneumatic circuit design and calculations
  • Conduct simulations
  • Delegate duties and coordinate design tasks with internal designers and external contractors
  • Communicate project concerns, status updates, and design solutions with management, colleagues, and clients.
  • Participate in client design presentations and assist in securing approval for the design concept.
  • Work cooperatively with clients, employees, contractors, management, and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain efficiency within the design process
  • Collaborate with electrical designers and mechanical assemblers/developers throughout the machine design/build process
  • Produce mechanical designs that are economical, easy to assemble, and simple to maintain
  • Support other designers with mechanical design for larger systems
  • Review part drawings and machine build drawings as needed
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) for purchased and manufactured components
  • Manage assigned tasks neatly, efficiently, and within budgeted hours.

Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in robotic simulation and robotic solutions

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 
  • 2D & 3D CAD design experience
  • Automation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ansys, and Inventor
  • Ability to perform Finite Element Analysis 
  • Ability to size components, including motors and servos
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Good logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities 
  • Knowledge of press automation (feeders, transfer systems, tooling, etc.)
  • Good background in automation manufacturing, supported by excellent design and communication skills. 
  • Be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of resolving issues, managing time effectively, and preparing documentation accurately.
