Description
Acara Solutions is looing for a Senior Accounting Manager for one of our clients in Calabasas Hills, CA.
This is a fully onsite position.
$140,000 - $155,000 / Year
Job Duties:
- Oversee all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable (AR), and cash management.
- Supervise and validate work completed by accounting and AR staff.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring financial statements are prepared in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with GAAP.
- Review and approve journal entries, as well as maintain accurate financial records including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform remaining month-end reconciliations not assigned to staff, ensuring all accounts are accurate and fully supported.
- Collaborate with the corporate accounting team on financial close processes and 10-Q/10-K supporting documents and commentary.
- Prepare monthly financial package for review with senior management, including business activity reports, performance metrics to management and support schedules for management.
- Consolidate and participate in the development of budgets and financial forecasts to align with objectives and KPIs.
- Develop and document internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures to support audit readiness and sustainable growth.
- Serve as key liaison on company accounting issues, keeping abreast of the latest regulatory changes and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support in managing yearly audit.
- Mentor and develop a team of two individuals, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement through training.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in the food industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, including financial statement preparation, and internal controls
- Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Public accounting or publicly traded company experience.
