Alstom is seeking an experienced and results-driven Proposal Manager to lead the development of high value, strategic proposals for passenger rail projects across North America. This is an opportunity to advance the future of transit and passenger rail in this region.
We are looking for a strategic leader to manage the full proposal lifecycle—from RFP release to final submission.
You will play a pivotal role in mobilizing large, cross-functional teams, collaborating with diverse experts, and tackling complex challenges to deliver winning proposals that drive Alstom's continued success in a dynamic and evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities:
You will serve as the conductor of the orchestra, bringing together commercial, technical, and creative contributors.
Lead kick-off meetings, facilitate color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold), and keep stakeholders engaged and accountable throughout the process.
Develop and maintain detailed proposal schedules, track milestones and deliverables, and communicate clear expectations to all contributors. Proactively identify and resolve roadblocks to keep the proposal effort on track.
Shape wining strategies by facilitating win theme and collaborative workshops to define Alstom's value proposition and differentiators.
Strengthen proposal narratives by refining content, crafting compelling introductions, and integrating targeted win themes that resonate with customer priorities.
Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, evolving requirements, and compressed timelines. Implement creative solutions to overcome content gaps, resource constraints, or process bottlenecks, maintaining a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Minimum bachelor's degree in business, Communications, or related field.
Experience managing large, complex proposals preferably in transportation, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
Strong project management skills, including scheduling, prioritization, and resource coordination.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent English communication skills – written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and collaborative tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams).
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong understanding of proposal development processes.
Experience managing proposals for North American audiences, preferably in transportation, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
Familiarity with North American proposal standards and best practices.
Experience in business development at a consulting or transportation engineering or infrastructure firm.
Experience in journalism and/or technical writing.
French communication skills are considered an asset.
