Description
Acara Solutions is seeking two full-time temporary Grant Accounts to support our client in accounting operations related to grant funding in Houston, Teaxas.
Duration: 6-month contract
Pay: $23.00-26.00/HR
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standardsPerform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Research, analyze, and correct accounting errors in a timely manner
- Support grant-related financial reporting and tracking
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, including pivot tables and lookup functions
- Work within financial systems, including PeopleSoft
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding accounting issues
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with journal entries and account reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions
- Experience with financial software; PeopleSoft experience preferred
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies
