Here's what you'd do:

  • The client is seeking a highly motivated Industrial Engineer to support automation, data analytics, continuous improvement, and process documentation initiatives within a fastpaced lab and inventory environment.
  • This role is ideal for an engineer who is handson, datadriven, and equally strong at executing improvements and documenting them for longterm sustainability.
  • The IE will lead and support multiple concurrent initiatives spanning automation integration, system design, space optimization, inventory flow, ergonomics, facilities coordination, and business process documentation, while ensuring key learnings are captured and shared through an eLearning or Skills Management Platform (e.g., Cornerstone, Percipio).
  • Optimize and integrate automated inventory systems, including:
    1. Daifuku Stocker and Sorter wafer inventory systems.
    2. Kardex Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs).
  • Design efficient workflows that integrate automation systems with client software platforms.
  • Support lowcode / system design initiatives (e.g., QuickBase or similar platforms) to enable scalable operational workflows.
  • Identify automation and system gaps and partner with IT, software, and operations teams to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop dashboards, workflows, and analytics as needed using:
    1. Power BI.
    2. Power Automate.
    3. QuickBase.
  • Manage and maintain operational databases; perform data extraction and analysis using SQL or Python.
  • Leverage AI tools to automate data analysis, trend detection, and decision support.
  • Utilize SAP, MRP, and ERP systems for operational analysis, reporting, and support of GLES initiatives.
  • Convert data insights into actionable process and system improvements.
  • Manage up to five (5) concurrent projects, including:
    1. Lab space planning and optimization.
    2. 5S and visual management implementation.
    3. Inventory room redesign and flow optimization.
    4. Storage solutions for lab fixtures, safety equipment, and free stock bins.
    5. Facilitiesrelated improvement projects.
  • Apply structured problemsolving methodologies to drive measurable improvements.
  • Track milestones, risks, and deliverables using project management tools.
  • Support and coordinate with Facilities teams on lab and inventory improvement projects.
  • Apply ergonomic principles to material flow, workstation design, and handling solutions.
  • Create and maintain business processes, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Document automation workflows, system designs, and operational changes.
  • Capture project learnings and best practices and publish them in an eLearning or Skills Management Platform.
  • Ensure documentation supports training, onboarding, audit readiness, and longterm sustainment.
  • Maintain a strong onsite presence in labs and inventory areas.
  • Build strong crossfunctional relationships to drive execution.
  • Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and problemsolving sessions.
  • Think creatively to develop practical, realworld solutions tailored to a lab environment.

 

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $43.50/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week.

Length: Temp (24 months).

Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of continuous improvement project experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with automation and system integration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with data analytics, databases, and automation, including tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, QuickBase, SQL, Python (or similar).

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • SAP.
  • Strong data analytics and database skills (Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, Python, QuickBase or similar).
  • Proven technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • AIenabled analytics experience.
  • Lab, semiconductor, or hightech manufacturing environment experience.
  • Space planning, ergonomics, and 5S experience.
  • Exposure to ISO standards and compliancedriven environments.
  • Experience supporting Facilities projects.
  • Familiarity with eLearning or skills management platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, Percipio).
  • Experience designing, implementing, or supporting a help desk or ticketing system using tools such as Jira Service Management or ServiceNow, including workflow setup, intake forms, SLAs, and reporting.
  • Handson and proactive.
  • Strong communicator and influencer.
  • Practical, structured problem solver.
  • Comfortable bridging engineering, operations, systems, and documentation.
  • Adaptable to nontraditional lab environments versus pure manufacturing.
  • Highly effective communicator and influencer who can drive alignment across BUs, explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, and gain adoption of new processes and tools.
  • Proven ability to lead discussions, influence without authority, facilitate workshops, and translate operational needs into clear, actionable outcomes for engineering, lab users, and leadership.
  • Strong technical writer with hands on experience documenting clear, practical lab processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated expertise in 5S, space planning, ergonomics, and structured problem solving, with a focus on designing simple, intuitive workflows that work in real lab environments and scale across teams.
  • Ability to develop dashboards, workflows, and analytics, and apply AI enabled approaches to automate analysis, identify trends, and improve decision making across lab operations.
  • Demonstrate strong continuous improvement capability.
