Description

Acara Solution is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for our client, located in Scottsdale, AZ

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
  • Write efficient, reliable code in C / C++ for real-time embedded systems.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate software with electronic components and peripherals.
  • Develop device drivers, board support packages (BSP), and low-level interfaces.
  • Debug and troubleshoot system-level issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
  • Optimize system performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
  • Implement and maintain RTOS-based applications where required.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for firmware design.
  • Support product testing, validation, and production release.

Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Technology or Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software architecture
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree 
  • Agile experience.  
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and socket programming.
  • Strong Linux background, including device trees and drivers.
  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller programming and debugging.
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO.
  • Proficiency in using debugging tools like GDB, JTAG, and logic analyzers.
  • Experience with cross-compilation and toolchains for embedded systems.
  • Understanding of memory management and performance optimization in embedded systems.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Knowledge of cryptographic protocols such as SSL/TLS, IPsec, and PGP.
  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) concepts.
  • Familiarity with hypervisors and virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, Xen).
  • Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and datasheets.
  • Proficiency with Buildroot or similar build systems for embedded Linux.
  • Knowledge of security practices in embedded systems development.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the software development life cycle
  • Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with notable record of securing buy-in on concepts and ideas
  • Passionate about embedded systems
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others

Additional Information:

  • Requires the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance
