Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Houston, TX. Interested?
Here's what you'd do:
- Sets up and operates manual lathes and precision metal-cutting and grinding machines, such as lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders, to cut, make, and repair metal products.
- Works according to very precise specifications.
- Datum range of turbo-compressors) including development and interpretation of technical assembly instructions, build methods, and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries.
- Set up and operate manual lathes to manufacture precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Operate manual end mills to perform milling, drilling, tapping, and other machining operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Perform machine adjustments, offsets, and minor maintenance as needed.
- Inspect finished work for accuracy; document results and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to meet production schedules.
- Learning Hydrostatic testing of all pipes fabricated on-site.
- Work with the Mechanical Group to assemble gas turbine packages, and with the Compressor Assembly Group to assemble compressors.
- Work with the Test Group to set up test bays for gas turbine and compressor testing.
- Work with the Electrical and Instrumentation groups to build packages.
- Maintain and obey all EHS standards.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Manual Lathe Machining Manufacturing
