Description

Acara Solutions is seeking a Component Engineer to join our client on a full-time direct hire opportunity located in Melbourne Florida


$110,000 to $130,000/year salary

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide recommendations to design engineers and customers on electronic component selection and application
  • Review engineering documentation including drawings, parts lists, and ECOs, and support implementation into MRP systems
  • Manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and approved manufacturer lists within MRP databases
  • Monitor components for DMSMS (obsolescence and supply chain risks) and identify alternate solutions
  • Perform lifecycle analysis and BOM scrubs using third-party tools
  • Develop and update Specification Control Drawings (SCDs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Collaborate with purchasing, materials, and configuration management teams on product changes and job kickoffs
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems and internal engineering standards
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives for electronic components
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 6+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician / Component Specialist
  • U.S. Citizenship required (due to customer ITAR requirements)

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with component selection, specifications, and lifecycle management
  • Working knowledge of military standards and specifications
  • Experience with BOM management and MRP systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
