Description
Acara Solutions is seeking a Component Engineer to join our client on a full-time direct hire opportunity located in Melbourne Florida
$110,000 to $130,000/year salary

What you'll be doing:
- Provide recommendations to design engineers and customers on electronic component selection and application
- Review engineering documentation including drawings, parts lists, and ECOs, and support implementation into MRP systems
- Manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and approved manufacturer lists within MRP databases
- Monitor components for DMSMS (obsolescence and supply chain risks) and identify alternate solutions
- Perform lifecycle analysis and BOM scrubs using third-party tools
- Develop and update Specification Control Drawings (SCDs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Collaborate with purchasing, materials, and configuration management teams on product changes and job kickoffs
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems and internal engineering standards
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives for electronic components
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 6+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician / Component Specialist
- U.S. Citizenship required (due to customer ITAR requirements)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience with component selection, specifications, and lifecycle management
- Working knowledge of military standards and specifications
- Experience with BOM management and MRP systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
