Job Title: Facility Technician
Location: Lake Forest, IL.
Employment Type: Temp (7 Months)
Industry: Distribution
Compensation: $35.00/ Hour
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week (Monday - Friday Noon to 8:30 PM)

What You'll Do:
  • Operations & Maintenance
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as:
    • Chillers (centrifugal and screw type)
    • Cooling towers
    • Air handling units (AHUs)
    • Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
    • Building automation systems (pneumatic & DDC)
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Plumbing and piping systems
    • Pumps, compressors, generators, and HVAC units
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues
  • Work Orders & Reporting
    • Complete assigned work orders
    • Update progress and completion in the automated work order system
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Follow operational procedures and safety standards
    • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance
    • Support safety training and awareness
  • Coordination & Execution
    • Carry out management instructions related to building operations
    • Collaborate with engineering staff on maintenance and improvements
  • Continuous Improvement & Learning
    • Attend training programs and seminars
    • Identify and implement energy conservation measures
    • Participate in reviewing and improving engineering procedures.
 
Job Requirements

 
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience managing facilities
  • 2+ years of experience in ordering supplies, work order management systems, Word, and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
What Sets You Apart: 
  • Prefer a working knowledge, hands-on experience or someone who wants to learn the maintenance, operation and repair of steam boilers, electricity and electrical distribution systems, plumbing and piping systems, internal combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, generators, ice machines, air-conditioning units, chillers (centrifugal and screw type), cooling towers, air handling units, variable frequency drives, and building automation systems (pneumatic and direct digital control).
  • Prefer a working knowledge of an automated work order system.
  • Prefer a working knowledge of Building Automation Systems, Siemens, and Johnson Controls.
  • Learn how to read and work off blueprints and schematics.
