Schedule: 4/10 hrs/Week. - (1st shift)
About the Opportunity:
- We are seeking a highly experienced Solder Assembler to join our precision electronics manufacturing team.
- The successful candidate will be an expert in both surface‑mount technology (SMT) and through‑hole soldering, with a proven track record of removing, repairing, and replacing a wide variety of components-including bottom‑terminated parts such as QFNs, BGAs, and LGAs.
- The role needs hands‑on use of advanced rework equipment.
- Perform high‑mix, low‑volume assembly of SMT and through‑hole components on complex printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Execute removal, replacement, and repair of bottom‑terminated components (QFNs, BGAs, LGAs) using hot‑air pencils, hot plates, and other rework tools.

What You'll Do:
- Conduct precise reflow, pre‑heat, and cooling cycles to meet component‑specific thermal profiles.
- Operate and maintain X‑ray inspection equipment to evaluate solder joints on hidden pads and verify rework quality.
- Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure correct component placement and orientation.
- Perform in‑process quality checks (visual, AOI, X‑ray) and document results per quality system requirements.
- Troubleshoot solder‑related defects (tombstoning, voids, solder bridges) and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain ESD‑controlled environments; follow all safety and compliance procedures.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, suggesting tooling upgrades or process optimizations.
- The operator must be willing to work under a microscope for extended periods while inspecting and working on PWBs.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of soldering experience.
What Sets You Apart:
- Ability to verify workmanship using X‑ray inspection techniques.
- Able to read/write English.
- Experience in using a Microscope to assemble components.
- Computer knowledge (email, accessing files, and SharePoint).
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Blueprint Reading.
- Experience in using a Microscope to assemble miniature parts into assemblies.
- IPC-A-610.
- IPC-J-STD.
