Crawford Packaging is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our growing U.S. team. In this hands-on role, you'll install, maintain, and repair advanced packaging equipment while providing exceptional service and support to our customers across Florida and beyond. What You'll Do
- Install and commission automatic and semi-automatic packaging systems, including pallet wrappers, shrink, flow wrap, top seal, and bundling equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC systems at customer sites and in-house.
- Collaborate with Service, Sales, and Administrative teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and test equipment for shipment and installation to meet operational and safety standards.
- Complete service reports, mileage logs, and expense submissions on time.
- Train clients on safe and efficient operation of their equipment.
- Travel throughout Florida (and occasionally nationally/internationally) to complete installations and service work.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience (circuits, fuses, control panels, etc.)
- 2+ years reading and interpreting electrical schematics/drawings in a work environment
- 1+ year of experience working with PLC-controlled equipment (Siemens, Allen Bradley / Rockwell exposure required; no programming needed)
- 1+ year using HMI interfaces for diagnostics or operation
- At least 1 year in a customer-facing or field-based role
- High School Diploma or GED
- Passport for International Travel
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- 1+ year experience with pneumatics
- Experience working on packaging equipment (flow wrap, shrink systems, palletizers, etc.)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience in food production, bottling, 3PL, or similar environments
- Exposure to automation systems, robotics, or working with integrators
- Experience training customers or leading onsite technical sessions
- Prior field service technician experience
