Description

Acara Solutions is looking for an Engineering Technician for our client located in Johnson City, TN

  • Performing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests according to various national and international test standards.
  • Pre and post-test analysis.
  • Pre-test validation methods.
  • Documenting and recording of test results.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting instrumentation data used to ensure the quality and performance of an accredited testing laboratory.
  • Perform tests to ensure the electrical safety requirements of various national and international standards.
  • Interface with external certification bodies, submit reports, and secure certification through various marine societies worldwide.
  • Perform functional verification tests using electronic instrumentation.
  • Participates in quality and process improvements related to laboratory accreditation.
  • Development or modification of test procedures and test validation methods.

Pay and Benefits:

  • The Salary for this position is $32.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • At least a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an engineering technician.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate in electronics technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in electronics technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an engineering technician.
  • Experience with EN and IEC standards.
  • IEC 17025 experience.
  • Experience with automation hardware and software (PLC's) solutions.
  • Instrumentation.
  • Oscilloscope, DVM's, Spectrum Analyzer.
  • EMC test equipment.
  • Temperature measuring devices.
  • Familiarity with enclosure ratings.
  • Good background in mathematics.
  • Proficient record keeping and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with good problem-solving skills.
  • Good quality orientation with the ability to improve existing processes and approaches.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
