Acara Solutions is assisting our client in Salem, VA to fill two Manufacturing Engineering roles within their Operations Engineering team. This is a contract role paying between $36 and 40 an hour. 

JOB SUMMARY
This team offers hands-on support of the manufacturing of medical devices that are low to mid volume and high complexity. Performs duties that require application of intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.  Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities.  Carries out complex or novel research assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.  
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Develops tooling, fixtures and equipment used in manufacturing to optimize productivity, maintainability, and cost.
  • Reviews test procedures and plans prior to implementation, conducts failure analysis and inspection on products, processes, and materials.
  • Plans process flow, evaluate process capability, review scrap trends and assists in implementation of process improvements.
  • Supports test function for system hardware, software, and test data manipulation projects. Provides accurate estimations and reports of all test processes.
  • Prepares all necessary paperwork, change requests and documentation for all projects undertaken.
  • Collaborates with Engineers, Team Leaders and Suppliers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and cost reduction.
  • Under direct supervision, performs assignments, receiving instructions with specific expected results.
  • Investigates, develops, and implements new process technologies of moderate scope.
  • Performs other functions as required.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Industrial Engineering experience
  • Work independently
  • Ability to work with others as a team, meet daily/weekly goals

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • ERP (Oracle or SAP) experience
  • Lean Manufacturing experience/exposure
