Description

Acara Solutions has been around for 65 years supporting the nation's aerospace and advanced manufacturing firms with our staffing related services. Our west of Cleveland, OH aerospace manufacturer client is looking for a Senior level Quality Engineer to join their organization as a salaried direct employee.  

This position reports to the Sr. Quality Manager. Aerospace experience is required.

The Quality Engineer III or IV works with minimal supervision and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.  
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers 
  • Collect and analyze production data to evaluate product quality 
  • Drive root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions 
  • Stop production if serious product defects are present 
  • Monitor quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Instruct others in quality control and analytical procedures
  • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, or quality trends 
  • Review statistical studies, regulatory standards and trends in the field of quality control 
  • Identify critical points in the Value Stream and specify sampling procedures 
  • Drive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are accepted 
  • Support audits with Defense, Aerospace and Customer Auditors 
  • Provide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as required 
  • Review and approve quality document changes - Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), deviations, etc.
  • Utilize a roadmap of continuous improvement for the organization by establishing priorities, methods for strategies and implementation using data to both guide the process as well as monitor the result
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quality, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or similar
Min 4 years of experience in quality engineering within an aerospace manufacturing setting with machine shop, NADCAP special process, assembly and test. 
- A plus to have this quality experience with engine manufacturers such as GE, Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, etc. 
Min 5 years of MS Office - Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook 
Min 2 years of experience with LEAN problem solving, 5S, mistake-proofing and process capability tools 

This is a U.S. defense contractor ITAR facility, U.S. Persons required. 

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
CQE, CQA, CQM or other similar quality certification through ASQ 
GD&T 
AS9145 Process control tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA) 
Familiarity with AS13100 QMS for engine suppliers
