Description

One of Acaras clients in the Manufacturing/Agriculture industry is looking for an Applications Portfolio Leader to join their team! 

Duration: Direct Placement/Fulltime 
Location: Naperville, IL (Onsite, open to relocation) 

The Opportunity
The Application Portfolio Leader is responsible for delivering stable, scalable technology applications and platforms that provide tangible business value and great customer experiences by delivering at the right speed and in close collaboration with the business partners. 

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and communicate the application strategy, aligned to business goals.
  • Manage investment and the evolving application strategy roadmap, prioritizing demand and sequencing delivery against the strategy, lifecycle stage, performance and business conditions.
  • Provide strategic inputs and decisions on buy vs build options to the business and technology leaders.
  • Maintain the definitive portfolio of services provided to the customer, articulating the business needs each service meets and the business outcomes it supports.
  • Design optimal customer experiences for IT services delivered.
  • Establish user-centric design practices to enable positive and seamless usability, information presentation and architecture, user-flows, navigation, and visual display.
  • Support and coordinate the implementation of application strategy roadmap using a suite of relevant project management approaches, suitable for a range of deliveries, from large scale complex programs to simple rapid delivery projects, supported by the relevant knowledge, skills, tools and techniques.
  • Design and deploy appropriate sustainment models for the applications.
 
Operational Execution
  • Analyze business operations and the business's computer systems and determining which software applications could improve efficiency.
  • Make recommendations on whether to upgrade the existing systems or install new ones.
  • Lead teams of IT specialists in the implementation and upgrading of application software.
  • Monitor the roll-out of new software applications to ensure there are no problems.
  • Create and oversee protocols and procedures for the use of any new software applications.
  • Train employees on the use of any new software applications and maintaining a good work atmosphere.
  • Maintain up-to-knowledge of the latest software developments.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience implementing Oracle Cloud ERP.
  • Participated in large business transformation working with major System Integrators such as Deloitte or Accenture.
  • Experience transforming IT organizations as part of major ERP/Business Transformation programs.
  • [10+] years' experience working in a relevant senior position.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages, such as Java, SQL, .NET, and C.
  • Extensive experience in deploying, optimizing, and maintaining software.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards a shared vision and goals, while also fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer services and interpersonal skills.
  • Superb collaboration and communication skills.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent advanced education.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the software development and IT operations space, with a demonstrated ability to assess their potential impact on business strategies and operations.
