Here's what you'd do: 

  • Our Card Specialist supports the Visa and MasterCard programs, including resolving disputes or lost and stolen cards.
  • They act appropriately to protect the client and members against fraudulent or counterfeit card transactions, card ordering/reordering, card production, file maintenance, staff and member requests, and account adjustments.
  • They will act as a representative of the client and provide exceptional quality service for all members.
  • Produces client debit and credit cards for mailing securely and accurately.
  • Researches and destroys returned card mail and notes the member's account. 
  • Reviews and researches the credit and debit card reports for exceptions that need manual posting to a member's account.
  • Provides verbal authorizations to merchants when electronic approvals are unavailable.    
  • Verifies and processes the card order file daily.
  • Reviews and processes reports.
  • Assists members to maximize credit, debit card usage and minimize fraudulent transactions.
  • Activities can consist of card activations, locked PINs, travel memos, adding and removing blocks, and following up with members when an alert is generated,   
  • Reviews alerts and completes all necessary forms.
  • Follows client procedures and regulations established by Visa and MasterCard related to disputed transactions, chargebacks, re-presentments, lost or stolen cards, and fraudulent activity.    
  • Research discrepancies reported by staff or members promptly, using the Fiserv Client Central website for corrective action.
  • Informs staff or the member of the action taken to comply with Regulation E and VISA/MasterCard Regulations.  
  • Performs file maintenance on member accounts to ensure accurate records are maintained on the Fiserv system and in the Electronic Warning Bulletin.   
  • Processes various card-related transactions, including settlement exceptions, Late Fee refunds, credit card payments, cash advance reversals, closing a credit card, cash-back accruals, and any other card-related transaction or maintenance tasks assigned.
  • Refunds service fees and finance charges.
  • Maintains new account numbers from Fiserv for each BIN.
  • Reviews returned mail and files accordingly.
  • Adheres to the Card Services Procedure Manual, suggests updates and revisions, and ensures the accuracy and consistency of debit and credit card-related procedures.
  • Interaction is with a limited variety of people inside and outside the organization.  Communications are of moderate difficulty. 
  • Contact with others may involve some details and brief dialogues and exchanges of information.
  • Interactions involve dealing with situations that are slightly complicated or stressful.

 

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $16.43/hr.

Hours: 40hrs/week.

Length: Temp to Direct.

Job Requirements

 
Here's what requirements you'll need:
High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service/support. 

Here's what sets you apart from other candidates that our clients prefer:
Previous debit and credit card processing experience.
  • The job needs a limited to moderate number of interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of credit card lending criteria, products, rates, processes, procedures, and policies. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit card regulations. 
  • Effectively use spreadsheet, database, and word processing software and other credit card-specific software.  
  • Ability to analyze and research credit card transactions. 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize job tasks and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.  
  • Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • Work needs light or a low amount of physical exertion.
  • The need for physical stamina and endurance is of minimum or low significance.
  • Body movement usually involves sitting and intermittent walking.
