General Description


Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex machinery used in manufacturing.


Duties and Responsibilities


Set up/program production jobs and machines per schedule as directed by Plant Management.

Maintain facilities and manufacturing equipment as needed and per Preventative Maintenance Program.

Troubleshoot/repair processes, systems, and machinery.

Test equipment/processes to meet safety and quality standards.

Work with Quality Assurance to resolve production quality issues.

Collaborate with other team members to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency. 

Assist Engineering with the development and specification of processes, tools, jigs, fixtures, and automated machinery to manufacture prototypes and production orders.

Develop concepts, tools, jigs, and fixtures as assigned with minimal direction.

Build tools, jigs, fixtures, and automated machinery to print and specifications including fabrication & assembly.

Assist in the debug of new processes tools, jigs, fixtures, and automated machinery including both purchased and custom designed equipment.

Organize engineering shop and maintain inventory control of consumable shop materials, tools, components, and production equipment spare parts.

Work cooperatively with all management personnel and coworkers to promote a TEAM environment.

Support established business systems, practices, and procedures.

Job Requirements


Knowledge and Skills Required


Associates degree in related field or minimum three (3) year experience in manufacturing environment.

Deep understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems/machinery.

Experience with PLC controls/programming. 

General maintenance skills relating to building maintenance and automated manufacturing machinery.

Superlative troubleshooting skills including resolving issues relating to production processes, equipment, materials, and components.

Extensive experience with hand and powered machine shop tools including the operation and use of manual machine shop fabrication equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, sheet metal brakes, welders, etc.

Skilled in electrical panel construction, machine wiring, and pneumatic plumbing.

Ability to interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.

Ability to install/relocate plant equipment and drive fork truck.

Ability to communicate effectively with different team members, including managers, engineers and operators. 

Willingness to continually improve knowledge and skills by periodic attendance of formal training programs.

Ability to work under pressure, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
