We are looking for a resolute and skilled Medical Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ceiling lifts, mobile lifts, rail systems and associated equipment used in healthcare facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, mindfulness, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Medical Equipment Technician will ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and safely, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. This position involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing routine inspections/maintenance, and providing technical support to the healthcare staff. The successful candidate will have excellent critical thinking skills, a thorough understanding of patient lift equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel. Additionally, the Patient Lift Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and staying up to date with advancements in medical technology. This is a critical role that directly impacts patient care and safety, making it essential for the candidate to be highly dependable and meticulous.

Responsibilities for Biomedical Equipment Technician

  • Perform scheduled maintenance inspections, urgent repairs, and performance assurance inspections on lift equipment to ensure safe and effective operating conditions.
  • Test and calibrate components using a variety of manuals & troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safely.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in medical technology.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support to healthcare staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  •  Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.
  • Document and report any safety hazards or concerns.
  • Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.
  •  Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct training sessions for healthcare staff on equipment use.
  • Repair and replace equipment and support systems as needed.
 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications for Biomedical Equipment Technician

  • 3-5 years relevant experience working with relevant biomedical equipment.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of tools and testing equipment
  • Ability to solve technical and performance problems using information from a variety of sources.
  • Working knowledge of technical requirements, codes, and standards associated with the field.
  • Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  •  Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  •  Strong organizational skills.
  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  •  Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  •  Customer service-oriented mindset.
  •  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  •  Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Microsoft office efficient with internet navigation and proficient with current technology 
  •  Diligence and elevated level of accuracy.
  •  Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Current passport would be an asset
