Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our customers in Fremont, CA. Interested?

 

Here's what you'd do:

 This position will support the corporate engineering library.
 
 Primary responsibility will be to implement, maintain and optimize library systems, including but not limited to: digital holdings management, discovery and aggregation platform, subscription databases, request management software, single sign on authentication.
 
 Assist patrons (company employees) in information retrieval, conduct reference interviews, provide on-demand training (web-based and in-person) on library resources, assist in research and locating resources.
 
 Interface with vendors and publishers to enable timely subscription modifications and additions in response to patron demand.
 
 Maintain library website's organizational framework and publication access points. Resolve technical and access issues related to library content and platforms.
 
 Maintain awareness of current developments in information services, specifically regarding new specialized databases relevant to the company's evolving needs. Make recommendations for new acquisitions, digital and print, as appropriate information resources are identified.
 
 Support the development and implementation of library strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
 
 Provide library support for company initiatives and projects.
 
 Other duties as assigned.

 

Here's what you'll get:

Pay:   $39.95/hr

Hours: 9:30am - 6p, / 40 hrs

Length:  Temporary (1 year)

Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with ILS, OPAC and related library systems
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day-to-day supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in information science or technology, hard sciences or engineering

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree Library and Information Science
  • Familiarity with OpenAthens or Shibboleth single sign-on software
  • Experience collaborating and negotiating with publishers and information services vendors
  • Demonstrated self-leadership skills, strategic thinking and attention to details for everyday tactical execution
  • Excellent people and presentation skills
  • Semiconductor or tech industry experience
