Description

Acara Solutions is seeking a Director of Finance for a manufacturer in Ingersoll, ON.

Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 100% onsite


Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all accounting activities, including financial reporting, cash flow, and treasury management.
  • Continuously assess and improve financial reporting to meet corporate and internal management needs.
  • Lead and participate in strategic planning and annual business planning processes.
  • Manage monthly financial forecasts and quarterly reports to corporate headquarters.
  • Supervise accounting staff, including the controller, ensuring effective team operations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and internal controls, maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Provide timely financial analysis and guidance to the management team for decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with external auditors during year-end reviews and special projects.
  • Oversee capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
  • Identify and manage financial risks while implementing strategies that align with company goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work with other departments on business initiatives, offering financial insights.
  • Monitor market trends and economic conditions to inform financial planning and risk management.
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant regulations and standards. 
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Accounting Designation CPA or CA is required
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.
  • Expertise in cash management, capital expenditure appraisal, planning, and budgeting.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in financial software, ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred), and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, make quick decisions, and innovate.
  • Experience in cost accounting and strategic financial planning
  • Excellent communication and delegation skills for managing staff and fostering teamwork.
