Job Summary:
The primary job responsibility of this position is to clean parts for the printing presses.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am-3pm
Wage: $23.45/hr
Location: Aurora, ON
*Must be comfortable working with solvents*
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Cleaning the parts for the presses
- Operating the distiller
- Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's.
- SOP's may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
- Employee Health and Safety
- SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
- SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's
- Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
- Special Projects & other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Hand dexterity
Other knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand the alarms etc. on the distiller.
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
Job Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting of 50 lbs
- Continuous standing
- Very little sitting
- Bent forward – fully on a regular basis
- Twisting – slightly
- Back movement – constantly, continuous motion
- Holding – occasional, not more than 40-50 lbs
- Carrying – occasional
Working Conditions:
- Proper use of Solvents and PPE
- Controlled temperature
- Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times. Must be able to wear all required personal protection equipment (PPE) correctly in all production areas
- Eye protection
- Gloves
- Steel-toe shoes
- Hearing protection
- Hairnets and beard nets
- Work around solvents, ink, adhesives, and cleaners used in the manufacturing process.
Environment:
- Concrete floors
