ICC Maintenance Technician


Primary Responsibilities:
 · Monitoring, supporting, and maintaining GoTransit Train Control Systems (GTCS) IT environment.
 · Responsible of GoTransit Train Control Systems control center IT Systems & infrastructure
 · Maintain inventory, orders and purchases.
 · Collect customer requests and data
 · Create tickets for Level 2 Support
 · Updates information on parts and suppliers
 · Software License management & Inventory

 · 1st Level Troubleshooting & IT Support
 · Creates periodic IT Health and Performance reports
 · Participates in urgent Corrective Maintenance activities to restore service
 · Perform all routine hardware checks and routine maintenance.
 · Updates Preventative Maintenance schedules according to historical data and deployment of software
 · Documents IT maintenance plans & procedures
 · Updates and maintains IT test plans
 · Participates in system troubleshooting
 · Installs, Updates & Maintains all software, firmware, hardware, configuration settings when remote support requires direct local action
 · Performs hands-on component replacement or manipulation work
 · Capable of following and executing written IT procedures.
 · Monitors/retrieves logs from servers and workstations upon request by the Maintenance Manager.
 · Capable of analyzing log files.
 · In case of failed component, provides logs/events explaining the failure to provide quick failure report to the client
 · Works closely with IT System Administrators
 · Assists to the troubleshooting of network issues
 · Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems
 · Communicates & customer services with customer (Metrolinx)
 · Generates periodic trend reports on all GTCS resource issues, alarm messages, and failures
 · Good knowledge of Microsoft Technologies & Products (Active Directory, SMB, GPO, RDP etc…)
 · Basic Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, NTP, DNS, SMB, etc…)
 · Basic knowledge of Linux Familiar with monitoring tools such as (SolarWinds IPMonitor, Zabbix, Nagios, etc…)
 · Familiar with VMware, Hyper-V concepts
 · Participates in 24/7 on-site support via rotating shifts
 · Participates in 24/7 on-call support
